The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed wide receiver Chad Owens to the active roster today and placed rookie wide receiver John Broussard on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
Owens, 25, had spent the past eight weeks on the practice squad after re-signing with the Jaguars on November 8. The 5-7, 188-pound wide receiver was in training camp with Tampa Bay before being waived on August 27, 2007. The Honolulu native has played in five games with the Jaguars and has recorded 12 punt returns for 62 yards. He was originally selected by the Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
Broussard, 24, had played in eight games and caught four receptions for 126 yards (31.5 avg.) and one touchdown. The 6-1, 174-pound wide receiver was selected in the seventh round of this year's NFL Draft out of San Jose State. He had been inactive for the last six games after suffering an ankle injury Nov. 11 against Tennessee.
