JACKSONVILLE –The Jacksonville Jaguars have opened OLB Dawuane Smoot's 21-day practice period, the team announced today. Smoot was originally placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on July 26, 2023 and remained on that list following the roster reduction to 53 players.
Commencing on the day following the club's fourth regular season game, clubs are permitted to begin practicing players who were placed on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform at the roster reduction to 53 players for a period not to exceed 21 calendar days. Pads and helmets are permitted during the 21-day period. Players may be activated during the 21-day practice period, or prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the day after the conclusion of the 21-day period. If the player is not returned to the Active /Inactive List prior to 4:00 p.m. ET on the day after the conclusion of the 21-day period, the player cannot return to that club's Active/Inactive List for the remainder of the season, including postseason.
