JACKSONVILLE – It's official: The No. 70 overall selection is signed.
Chad Muma, the No. 70 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 2022 NFL Draft, has signed his rookie contract. The team announced the signing Wednesday afternoon during the first week of '22 organized team activities at TIAA Bank Field.
Muma (6-feet-3, 242 pounds), a linebacker from the University of Wyoming, had 267 total career tackles – 147 solos – collegiately. He was a third-team Associated Press All-America selection this past season.
He registered 19 tackles for loss in his career, including eight each of the past two seasons. He also had three interceptions this past season, two of which he returned for touchdowns. He was a finalist for the Butkus Award as a senior and a first-team All-Mountain West selection in 2020 and 2021.
The Jaguars previously had signed five of their seven '22 draft selections: Outside linebacker Travon Walker (Round 1, No. 1 overall, Georgia), linebacker Devin Lloyd (Round 1, No. 27 overall, Utah), running back Snoop Conner (Round 5, No. 154 overall, Mississippi), cornerback Greg Junior (Round 6, No. 197 overall, Ouachita Baptist) and cornerback Montaric Brown (Round 7, No. 222, Arkansas).
One Jaguars '22 selection remains unsigned: offensive lineman Luke Fortner (Round 3, No. 65 overall, Kentucky).
