- Pepsi Beverages Company, in partnership with the Jaguars Foundation, Baptist Health/Wolfson's Children's Hospital, Walmart/Sam's Club and Ferry-Morse Seed Company, is providing grants to promote healthy living in the Jacksonville area.
- Eight North Florida community gardens will receive a $1,500 cash grant and $1,500 in Wal-Mart/Sam's Club gift cards to obtain garden supplies and tools, as well as an assortment of seed packs from Ferry-Morse. The organizations are: in Jacksonville- the I.M. Sulzbacher Center, Tree Hill Nature Center, The Bridge of Northeast Florida and the Sanctuary on 8th Street; Communities in Schools of St John's County; BASCA Inc. in Clay County; E.H. Miller School in Putnam County and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County.
- These grants are provided to community gardens in order to promote healthy choices among children and families through increased physical activity and better nutrition.
- This event is an articulation of the shared values of these organizations by emphasizing the value of improved health and nutrition in the Jacksonville community.
