Jaguars Continue Two-A-Days At Training Camp

The Jacksonville Jaguars continued the two-a-day practice schedule today after a morning session in shorts at the practice fields at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. The Jaguars will have a practice session tonight at 7:00 p.m. in full pads.

Wide receiver Ernest Wilford sustained a minor knee sprain in the morning session. He is scheduled to have an MRI and the team remains hopeful that he will return later this week.

"Ernest is having a great camp. You understand the type of player Ernest is. Hopefully, we can get some good news and he will be back out there," said quarterback Byron Leftwich on Wilford.

Leftwich will start his first game this weekend at Miami since missing the final 10 games of the 2006 regular season after ankle surgery. He and new offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter will have their first opportunity to showcase the Jaguars' newly installed offense.

"Personally, it's been a long time since I have been out there (on the field). It's going to be fun to get back out there, competing in the form and fashion you need to compete in to win football games in the regular season," said Leftwich. "I know it's a new system, but it's still football. Football is football. Everybody has their own different version of it, but this version is similar to what I love doing, so it makes picking it up very easy."

The Jaguars will continue training camp on Wednesday with a practice session at 1:30 p.m. (pads) at the practice
