The Jacksonville Jaguars today were awarded wide receiver Jason Hill off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers. Cornerback Chevis Jackson was waived to make room for Hill on the roster.
Hill, 6-0, 202, is in his fourth season after being selected by San Francisco in the third round of the 2007 draft, the 76th pick overall. He played in 32 games with two starts for the 49ers including two games this season. His career totals include 40 receptions for 413 yards and four touchdowns along with 29 special teams tackles.
In 2009, Hill played in 11 games and finished with nine receptions for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Both of his touchdowns came on Nov. 8 against Tennessee. He had a career-high 30 receptions for 323 yards and two touchdowns along with 17 special teams tackles in 2008.
A native of San Francisco, Hill was a three-year starter at Washington State and set school records for career receiving yards (2,704) and touchdown receptions (32). He attended Sacred Heart Cathedral High School where he starred as a defensive back and wide receiver.
