JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars will be down significantly at cornerback Sunday.

CJ Henderson, a starting cornerback and the No. 9 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, will miss the Jaguars' Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals at TIAA Bank Field Sunday. Henderson was among five inactives announced by the Jaguars 90 minutes before kickoff.

Henderson, a starter opposite Shaquill Griffin in Weeks 1 and 2, left a 23-13 loss to the Denver Broncos last Sunday with a groin injury and missed practice with an illness Thursday.

Tre Herndon, a reserve corner who had been listed as questionable by the Jaguars throughout the week after missing Weeks 1 and 2 with a medial collateral ligament injury, also was announced as inactive.

The injuries leave the Jaguars with Griffin, second-year veteran Chris Claybrooks, rookie Tyson Campbell and eight-year veteran Nevin Lawson active at corner. The Jaguars signed Lawson this week, with Claybrooks replacing Henderson after the latter was injured last week.

The Jaguars other inactives Sunday: defensive end/outside linebacker Jordan Smith, defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris and defensive tackle Jay Tufele. Robertson-Harris started Weeks 1 and 2 and is out Sunday with an ankle injury.
