The Jacksonville Jaguars made three roster moves today, placing DE Brent Hawkins on injured reserve and signing second-year defensive end Kenneth Pettway from the practice squad. The Jaguars also added LB Kevis Coley to the practice squad.
Hawkins, 23, played in the first six games of the 2006 season and recorded eight tackles and two sacks. He was the Jaguars' fifth round selection out of Illinois State in this April's NFL Draft. He was inactive in last week's game against Tennessee with the groin injury after being injured Oct. 29 vs. Philadelphia.
Pettway, a 6-4, 238-pounder from Grambling State, was selected in the seventh round of the 2005 draft by the Houston Texans. The 23-year-old Gilmer, Texas native was waived by the Texans on Sept. 1 in final cuts and spent the last two weeks on the Jaguars practice squad.
Coley, 24, was signed as an undrafted rookie by the New York Giants out of Southern Mississippi. The 6-1, 230-pound rookie played in 50 games in college with 237 tackles and seven sacks. He has a twin brother, Trevis, who played was also signed by the Giants this past April.
