The Jacksonville Jaguars today released eight players: WR Kahlil Hill, DB Marcell Allmond, OL Craig Osika, DT Derrick Ransom, LB Jimmy McClain, OL Mike Compton, QB Nate Hybl and LB Brian Allen.
Two of the eight – Hill and Allmond – are first-year players. The others are veterans, with Compton the most experienced at 13 years. Ransom is in his eighth year, Allen his fifth, Osika and McClain are in their third, and Hybl is a second-year player.
The Jaguars' roster now stands at 78 players, and the team has until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday to get down to the 65-man roster limit. At this time they also have six NFL Europe roster exemptions. The deadline for final cuts to 53 is Saturday, Sept. 3.
