The Jaguars today placed defensive end Eric Curry on injured
reserve with a knee injury and signed DE James Roberson, who
spent the last three seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
Curry suffered a knee injury in Monday night's victory over the Jets
and will be lost for the season. For the year, he made 10 tackles,
half a sack and three QB pressures.
Roberson, 28, is a three-year veteran out of Florida State who
started 21 of 40 games played for the Titans from 1996 to '98. The
6-3, 275-pound Roberson was originally signed as an undrafted
rookie by the New Orleans Saints in 1995. After being waived, he
was claimed by Green Bay and then waived again before playing in
the World League and then signing with the Houston Oilers in '96.
For his career, he has 76 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and
two fumble recoveries. A native of Lake Wales, Fla., he was
waived by the Titans on August 2.
