COLEMAN UNDERGOES SURGERY

Jaguars guard Ben Coleman underwent arthroscopic surgery

yesterday to clean out his left knee. Surgery was performed by Dr.

Stephen Lucie at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute. Coleman is

expected to begin rehabilitation next week and should be ready for

the start of the 1999 season.

Coleman, a seven-year veteran, has started 48 consecutive games,

a team record. He played both left guard and left tackle last season,

and he has started 53 of 58 games played since being claimed on

waivers by the Jaguars from the Arizona Cardinals midway through

the 1995 season.
