In our 2025 Black History Month series we will be featuring innovators ages 40 and under. We are kicking things off with Auburn standout Taliah Scott, Jacksonville's Clay County's first-ever McDonald's All-American in girls basketball, as she seeks to leave a legacy on and off the court.

"When you look good, you feel good." Arminius Patterson is helping build confidence in his clients and Creating Black History with each custom suit he designs.

Having conquered athletics, with a 10-year career in the NFL, including three Pro-Bowl selections, and academics, with an MBA from George Washington, Marcus Stroud is Creating Black History with his latest foray into entrepreneurship. Baby Got Brunch is set to open its doors later this year.

"Real learning starts at home." Biscayne Elementary Teacher Rashad Reed works to inspire children each day through education and empowerment. Reed is a member of THE ONES JAX, an initiative created by the Jacksonville Public Education Fund to achieve the goal of getting 1,000 male teachers of color in Duval Schools classrooms by 2025.

Education means opportunity. When Aumari and Dawuane Smoot couldn't find a local preschool that fit their children's needs, they decided to found The Elsie Academy.

Every cleat has an impact, and Trevor Lawrence's impact is one that has changed the lives of the students at Long Branch Elementary (LBE) forever. Watch as Lawrence takes a first look at his hand painted cleats for the 2021 NFL My Cause My Cleats initiative. The students at LBE were the first to welcome Lawrence after he was drafted and today those relationships continue to grow.
