JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have made a major commitment to special teams.
They did so on Wednesday by acquiring a veteran, proven player with game-changing speed and playmaking experience.
Devin Duvernay, a veteran wide receiver/returner, has agreed to terms with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent. The team announced the move Wednesday at 4 p.m., the start of the 2024 NFL League Year.
Duvernay, a third-round selection by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 NFL Draft, spent his first four seasons with the franchise and was named to two Pro Bowls – 2021-2022 – as a returner. He was named first-team Associated Press All-Pro in 2021.
He has returned 69 punts for a 12.8-yard career average with 73 kickoff returns for two touchdowns and a 24.8-yard career average. He has 94 receptions for 898 yards and five career touchdowns.
