JACKSONVILLE – Let's get to it …

Many Jags fans would love to see Mason Graham become a Jaguar. However, don't be disappointed if the Jags draft offensive tackle/guard Armand Membou at pick 5. Membou is 6-feet-4 and 330 pounds, posted an exceptional Relative Athletic Score of 9.89 at the NFL Scouting Combine, and received a Pro Football Focus grade of 90.4 with zero sacks allowed while playing right tackle in the SEC. Consider the 2024 season for the currently projected five starters. Jaguars center Robert Hainsey had the best PFF score of 73.3 (ninth best center), but only played 94 snaps and started just one game against the New Orleans Saints. Jaguars left tackle Walker Little had a PFF grade of 72.8 (34th best tackle), Jaguars guard Ezra Cleveland (64.9 PFF, 52nd guard), Jaguars right tackle Anton Harrison (64.2 PFF, 58th tackle) and Jaguars guard Patrick Mekari (60.0 PFF, 74th guard) complete the projected lineup. Of course, PFF scores do not tell the whole story. And while this lineup may compare favorably with the 2024 O-Line, there is clearly room for a player with Pro Bowl potential. One fer Graham or Membou and beefing up the trenches?
You put much effort into this question and I respect that. You spent much time on the Pro Football Focus website and I respect that. You also found Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou's Relative Athletic Score and his PFF score against Southeastern Conference competition. I'm not here to discount any of that work. I am here to say I don't expect the Jaguars to select an offensive lineman at No. 5 in the 2025 NFL Draft. Perchance that will change in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

O, I'm going to fan here, but maybe the Jags trade back a spot or two and select Ashton Jeanty. He, along with running backs Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby would make a loaded backfield.
Trading back or trading up – whether a spot or two or more than that – in the NFL Draft is never guaranteed. I don't doubt that the Jaguars would trade back given the right opportunity. The issue with the Jaguars trying to trade out of the No. 5 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft is that teams below them realize what the Jaguars might realize – that while there are good players there, they may not be significantly better than the players available at No. 6 or 7 or 8. Either way, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is intriguing. Very intriguing.

Now that all the "Fun & Games" are over, do you think this team can move from a "Stone Cold Yesterday" full of "Darker Days" and "Set the Stage" for "Another Souvenir eer" in the trophy case?
Sounds like someone has something to say.

Do the Jaguars think they solved the offensive line problem short-term or do they think they put duct tape on it to give them the freedom to take the best available players? I think it's patched, and I don't think anyone currently on the staff thinks it is fixed. It's just duct taped!
The best way I know to answer this is it's probably a combination. The Jaguars certainly believe they have improved the offensive line with the signings of guard Patrick Mekari and center Robert Hainsey, and that it will as a group be a more physical group with a nastier streak. I don't believe they believe this is a perfect group, and I don't sense a believe that the group is "fixed" for the long term. They do believe they have five capable starters and multiple capable reserves, and they also believe that there is room for a rookie to compete and play.

I saw we can now wear our throwbacks four times this year. Guess we are getting at least four wins this season!
The NFL last week indeed modified its uniform policy to allow teams to wear alternate uniforms four times a season rather than the old limit of three times per season. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jaguars took full advantage of this change.

As this offseason dwindles, doesn't it appear the 4-13 seems more about the Xs and Os than the Jimmys and Joes? It is always coaching in the NFL.
It's always coaching in the NFL.

I imagine you are getting tired of this discussion, but I just want to say one more thing about the stadium and Jacksonville keeping the team. Thirty-two teams but four share a city, so there are 30 NFL cities. During a non-bye week, 15 cities in the world are hosting an NFL game. Why would you voluntarily give up the opportunity to be one of 13-14-15 cities in the world any given week to host this event? Perhaps if you want to live in a smaller city or quieter town … well, there are literally thousands and thousands of them. Jacksonville is one of 30 NFL cities and as a fan of Jacksonville (and the Jaguars) I understand how fortunate we are to have it.
I don't tire of this discussion. I've followed issues such as these long enough and closely enough to know there always will be people who dislike the idea of public money funding professional sports stadiums. These people from my experience tend to be vocal and somewhat angry about their dislike of the idea – and from my experience, they rarely "come around to the idea." The issue indeed from my perspective tends to begin and end with the point you make – and that's that if a city wants to be in the NFL, it figures out a way to pay what admittedly is often a steep price. If you believe the NFL worth this price, then you're for public funding contributing to stadiums. If you don't, you don't. And rarely the twain shall meet.

Since everyone is posing these questions here's my curious version. Jags are in the clock at No. 5 with Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter still available and several teams interested. What would it take you to drop about five spots? Is a second rounder enough! I think so if you're committed to building both lines …
I don't expect the Jaguars will trade back if they are on the clock at No. 5 and Hunter is available.

Happy Sunday Koap (king of all pants). Here's a different question for you. My wife and I are looking to buy a house. We're looking in Arlington, Murray Hill, and Mandarin. I understand you're a fan of Springfield. I have always wanted to live in Springfield. I love the historic houses, proximity to the stadium, and Bullet Bobs. However, I'm a big car guy and the lack of garages is a hard one for me. Can you give me some insight as to what it's like living in Springfield? Perhaps some pros and cons?
Pros: Historic homes, pride in neighborhood, a feeling of community, Bullet Bobs, proximity to the stadium. Cons: Upkeep of historic houses can be worrisome and expensive. The garage issue can be tricky, though I have a (small) garage and many of my neighbors do as well.

Eugene "Gene" Frenette stands as a figure of unparalleled might, a being so godlike that his mere presence commands the universe itself. To gaze upon him directly is to confront the sublime; the sheer brilliance of his essence would overwhelm mortal senses, leaving humanity breathless in awe and peril. His image, radiant and fierce, transcends the limits of human comprehension, embodying a power that is both magnetic and terrifying. In his shadow, the world stands still. To gaze upon him directly would certainly kill you. Do you think that is why the creators of episode two of The Hunt blurred his image on camera around 32:12?
Yes.

Ivan from Den of Thieves sounds like fun, huh?
We talk a lot here in the O-Zone about the importance of being nice. This importance sometimes requires being nice when it's difficult to be nice.
Keith from Woonsocket
I can't wait to hear Jags fans reaction to Ivan's comments. I need a good laugh.
Ivan is a visionary. Just ask him.

KOAF: According to my calculations in relative space/time string theory (or something like that), you are rapidly approaching that highly coveted 5,000 consecutive day milestone. What exact day in April will you reach 5,000? Will your loyal O-Zone fan(s) (and you know who he/she/we are) be allowed to toast your achievement with a Bullet Bob?
I think the 5,000th day will be April 16. Let no one ever say I was one to stand in the way of a good toasting.
