Jaguars Mock Draft 12.0: One Month Until Draft - Who Remains the Top Prospect?

JACKSONVILLE – Consensuses are being reached. This is that time of the offseason.

This is the 12th 2024 jaguars.com mock draft tracker – and with the 2024 NFL Draft less than a month away, it's not unexpected that a few names and positions are being projected to the Jaguars in Round 1 far more than others.

Those names and positions are familiar now, with wide receiver Brian Thomas of Louisiana State University projected to the Jaguars at No. 17 overall by five analysts in this week's tracker.

"Thomas has the 6-3 size and 4.33 speed to be a difference-maker," former NFL General Manager Mike Tannenbaum of ESPN wrote.

Thomas was the most projected player this week, and he was the lone receiver projected to the Jaguars in Round 1.

"Thomas complements Gabe Davis, Christian Kirk, and Evan Engram well, giving Jacksonville another deep threat who can get over the top of a defense but also brings the speed and elusiveness to take a simple slant route to the house," Danny Kelly wrote.

Cornerback also remains a popular Round 1 projection for the Jaguars – and as has been the case in recent weeks, Terrion Arnold of Alabama this week was the Jaguars' most often-projected Round 1 corner.

"Adding a high-IQ cover corner with positional flexibility could help the Jaguars match up with the AFC South's dynamic offenses," NFL and Jaguars Media Analyst Bucky Brooks wrote of Arnold.

Cooper DeJean, a cornerback from Iowa, also was projected to the Jaguars in Round 1 by multiple analysts this week.

"Cooper DeJean is a fluid athlete in his ability to carry routes vertically or transition across the field," Josh Edwards of CBS wrote.

Also projected to the Jaguars at No. 17 in this week's tracker: Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy II, Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry and Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins.

"Nate Wiggins has the length, speed and press-coverage chops to give opposing wide receivers fits in the AFC South," Kyle Stackpole of CBS wrote, with Chris Trapasso of CBS writing: "The Jaguars need more push from the interior of their defensive line, and Murphy would provide that instantly."
