Jaguars Complete First Full Week

The Jaguars completed their first full week of training camp today with two practice sessions at Ferrell Fields.

The players will not practice on Sunday, although they will have meetings in the evening. The next scheduled practices are Monday, at 8:40 a.m. and 3:20 p.m.

"The intensity was a little better. I thought they came back well after wearing shells (Friday morning) and then not working yesterday afternoon," said Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin. "It was back and forth a little bit, which is the way you want it to be. You don't want it to have one side totally dominating the other. So from that standpoint, it was improved obviously."

"We're still throwing a lot at them," added Coughlin. "We've been on the goal line twice. We've been in the red area a number of times. We've had a few two-minute drills. We're doing a lot of things defensively. We're working on some different sets and some different alignments. I think it's coming along. It's just going to take a little while."

The Jaguars will practice against the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, and Coughlin said, "I don't know if that's really crossed their minds yet. While we're not going against somebody else, it allows us to continue our aggressive play. We've been able to move forward with what we've given the players in terms of situations. From that standpoint, it's a huge plus."

Editor's note: Gatorade Jr. Training Camp Day, which was scheduled for Monday, has been postponed and will be re-scheduled.
