JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed fourth-year veteran WR Tre McBride and rookie DT Kalani Vakameilalo, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the team waived LB Nick DeLuca and LS Christian Kuntz. Both McBride and Vakameilalo participated in this week's veteran mandatory minicamp as tryout players.
McBride has played in 17 career games with stints in Tennessee and Chicago since being drafted in the seventh round (245th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Titans. He posted career-high numbers in 2017 with the Bears when he posted eight receptions for 144 yards. He posted his lone career TD as a rookie in 2015 with Tennessee. The Killeen, Texas native competed collegiately at William & Mary.
Vakameilalo (pronounced: vah-kah-may-lah-loh) played in 46 games (31 starts) at Oregon State, where he finished with 75 tackles, including 13.5 for loss. The Kapolei, Hawaii native added 6.0 sacks, three passes defensed, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two QB hurries to his collegiate resume.
The Jaguars currently have 90 players on their offseason roster.
