The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed unrestricted free agent safety Deon Grant to a contract today.
Grant, 24, started all 16 games including all four postseason contests in 2003 for the Carolina Panthers. He finished with 105 tackles, three interceptions and one sack in the regular season and had 31 tackles and one interception in the postseason.
The 6-2, 210-pounder was originally a second round draft choice of the Panthers in 2000 but spent his rookie season on injured reserve after fracturing his hip in training camp. He has not missed a start since 2000 totalling 262 tackles, 11 interceptions and two sacks.
