Schobert was a multi-sport athlete at Waukesha West High School in Waukesha, Wisc., where he played both football and basketball. In 2012, he won the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Game dunk contest after a between-the-legs throw down. Schobert still takes lots of pride in his dunking ability and isn't slowing down any time soon.

In 2017, Joe Schobert proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Megan, in front of the Eiffel Tower. The two were married in July of 2018. Megan and Joe met at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where Joe began his career as a walk-on.

Megan and Joe announced their pregnancy after the Browns defeated the Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Cleveland with a photo of a "Baby Scho" onesie. The couple welcomed their first child on March 13, 2020, a baby boy named Simon.

The couple named their dog, Loui, because he was originally a rescue dog from Louisiana following flooding in the area. He is a mix of four different breeds and is featured prominently on both Megan's and Joe's Instagram accounts. Loui seems to really enjoy spending time sleeping and on the beach. Lucky for Loui, Jacksonville has plenty of beaches for him to explore!

Schobert was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In his second season in the NFL, he was named to his first Pro Bowl. Schobert finished the 2017 season with 142 tackles, tied for the second-most in the NFL, and four passes defensed, 3.0 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception.

Schobert became the sixth linebacker in NFL history to have at least two interceptions in consecutive games when he did so in Week 11 and Week 12 of 2019. After totaling five tackles, four passes defensed and two INTs in a win against Miami in Week 12, he was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
