Eric Ciano enters his 16th season in the NFL and his first with Jacksonville in 2025. He spent the previous 15 seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2010-24), most recently as the head strength and conditioning coach, overseeing the year-round strength and conditioning program for the Bills.
In 2020, Ciano was named the NFL's strength and conditioning coach of the year by the Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. During the 2019 season, the Bills only used 57 players during the season, the fewest in the NFL.
In 2013, Ciano implemented the Catapult training system, a GPS-based system that collects data on each player to prevent injury, measure exertion and assist with rehabilitation. These metrics included acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, top speed and total distance run.
Before his tenure in Buffalo, Ciano spent five seasons at Georgia Tech, overseeing strength and conditioning for all of the Yellow Jackets' athletic teams, primarily football. Prior to his time with Georgia Tech, Ciano served two stints at Tennessee, first as a graduate assistant at Tennessee (1997-99), then as the associate head of strength and conditioning in 2002-04. Between his terms at Tennessee, Ciano served as the head of strength and conditioning at Louisiana Tech from 2000-02.
Ciano earned his bachelor's degree from Springfield College (Mass.) in 1997, then went on to earn his master's degree from Tennessee in 1999.
Ciano and his wife, Ashley, have three sons: Brady, Jack and Luke.
