Chad Hall enters his second season as the wide receivers coach for the Jaguars and his sixth season as a wide receivers coach in the NFL. In 2023, WR Calvin Ridley recorded over 1,000 receiving yards after missing the entire 2022 season (1,016). This was the first time since 2020 and only the second time in his career. Additionally, WR Christian Kirk recorded the highest yards per reception in his career (13.8).
Prior to his time in Jacksonville, he spent six seasons on the Buffalo Bills staff (2017-21). He was in charge of the wide receiver room for the past four years after being promoted from offensive assistant in 2019.Â
In 2021, Hall helped WR Stefon Diggs be selected to his second consecutive Pro Bowl and become the first Bill with 100+ receptions in consecutive seasons. Diggs set an NFL record for receptions in a players first two seasons with a team (230). Under Hall's watch, second-year WR Gabriel Davis also set an NFL playoff record by catching four touchdowns passed at KC (1/23/22).
He oversaw a receivers room in 2020 that took the Buffalo offense to new heights, helping both Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley earn All-Pro honors. Diggs set franchise records and led the NFL with 127 receptions and 1,535 receiving yards on the season. Diggs also tied a franchise record with seven 100-yard games in his first season working with Hall.
In 2019, Hall helped WR John Brown total 72 receptions for 1,060 yards and six touchdowns in his first season as a Bill. He became the first Bill to post 50+ receiving yards and at least four receptions in each of the first ten games of a season.
In his NFL career, Hall played wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles (2010-12), San Francisco 49ers (2012-13), and Kansas City Chiefs (2013), accumulating 15 receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns, and an NFC championship during his career.
In college, Hall played running back at the United States Air Force Academy for three years. He was the only player in the country to lead his team in rushing and receiving during his senior year, finishing third in the nation in all-purpose yards and was a Heisman finalist. He was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2007.
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Hall was recruited from Wesleyan School in Norcross, Ga. to play quarterback but was soon converted to running back. He was inducted into the Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame in 2017. From 2008–2009, Hall served in the United States Air Force as a second lieutenant. He was based in Hill Air Force Base in Utah as a maintenance officer, assigned to the 388th Maintenance Group. Hall married the former Rose Pierce-Tenney in May of 2018. They have a daughter named Penelope Rose Hall and a son named Chandler Wright Hall Jr.
