THREATS PLACED ON I.R.; JAGUARS ACTIVATE WILLIAMS

The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed DE Jabbar Threats on injured reserve and activated Lamanzer Williams from the practice squad. They also signed DE Reggie Lowe to their practice squad.

Threats suffered a sprained right knee in practice on September 16 and missed the last two games. He had played in the defensive line rotation in the first two games, making two tackles. Threats, 23, was one of two undrafted rookies to make the Jaguars' 1997 opening day squad. He played in two games last season and was inactive for the other 14.

Williams was activated to the 53-man roster for the second time this season. He saw his first NFL action in the September 20 victory over Baltimore. He was waived two days after the game and then signed to the practice squad on September 22. A sixth-round draft pick out of the University of Minnesota, the 23-year-old Williams had been waived in the final cuts on August 30 and then signed to the practice squad the next day.

Lowe, 23, is an undrafted rookie out of Troy State. He spent the preseason with the Seattle Seahawks and was waived in the final cuts on August 30. He was signed to Baltimore's practice squad on September 2 until being waived by the Ravens on September 29. The 6-2, 250-pound Lowe was All-Conference in 1997, when he led Troy State with 8.5 sacks.
