**JACKSONVILLE –** The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed DE Breeland Speaks, the team announced today. Additionally, DE De’Shaan Dixon has been waived/injured. If Dixon clears waivers, he will revert to the Jaguars’ injured reserve list.

Speaks was drafted by Kansas City in the second round (46th overall) of the 2018 Draft. He played in 16 games (four starts) as a rookie and recorded 24 tackles (15 solo), eight quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. Speaks also spent time on the practice squad in Las Vegas (2020), Dallas (2020-21) and Buffalo (2021). He also was an offseason member of the New York Giants (2021) and spent time with San Francisco during training camp in 2023. A native of Jackson, Miss., he played in 37 games over three seasons at Mississippi (2015-17) and registered 127 tackles (52 solo), 15 tackles for loss, 9.0 sacks and two fumble recoveries. In 2017, he earned Second-Team All-SEC honors. In 2024, Speaks participated in the UFL season for the Michigan Panthers and was named the UFL Defensive Player of the Year. He produced 31 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks in 10 games and led the league in both tackles for loss and sacks.
