JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have addressed their running-back depth.
They did so by retaining a player who played a key role as a reserve and on special teams this past season.
D'Ernest Johnson, a running back who will enter his sixth NFL season in 2024, has re-signed with the Jaguars. The team announced the move March 13, 2024.
Johnson, who played for the Cleveland Browns from 2019-2022, rushed 108 yards on 41 carries and caught 10 passes for 140 yards in 2023. He also returned seven kickoffs for an 18.0-yard average.
Johnson has rushed for 846 yards and three touchdowns on 182 career carries, also catching 41 passes for 369 yards. He has returned 33 career kickoffs for a 23.4-yard average.
