JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have elevated WR Velus Jones Jr. and LB Anthony Pittman to the active roster from the practice squad for tomorrow's game via standard elevation, the team announced today. Additionally, RB Keilan Robinson has been downgraded from questionable to out.
Jones Jr. was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round (71st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He played in 27 games (two starts) in three seasons (2022-24) with the Bears and accumulated 12 receptions for 135 yards and one touchdown, along with 19 rushes for 165 yards and one touchdown. Jones Jr. has also returned 22 kickoffs for 607 yards and five punts for 35 yards. He appeared in one game for Chicago this season before his release on October 26. The Jaguars signed him to the practice squad on Oct. 29.
Pittman was originally signed as an undrafted rookie by the Detroit Lions in 2019. During his time with Detroit (2019-23), Pittman played in 52 games, registering twelve tackles (five solo) and one forced fumble. In March 2024, Pittman signed as a free agent with Washington and spent training camp with the team. He was signed to the Jaguars practice squad on Oct. 7, 2024.
