JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars continue to solidify their defense.
This time, they did so by acquiring a veteran outside linebacker from a team within their own division.
Trevis Gipson, an outside linebacker who played this past season with the Tennessee Titans, has signed with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent. The team announced the move Monday morning.
Gipson, a fifth-round selection from Tulsa by the Chicago Bears in the 2020 NFL Draft, spent three seasons with the Bears before playing with the Titans in 2023. He has played in 48 games and registered 42 tackles, 21 quarterback hits, 11 sacks, 11 tackles for loss and six forced fumbles.
Gipson played eight games with a forced fumble and a sack in his lone season with the Titans this past season.
The Jaguars last week signed three defensive players as free agents: Defensive tackle Arik Armstead (San Francisco 49ers), safety Darnell Savage Jr. (Green Bay Packers), cornerback Ronald Darby (Baltimore Ravens).
