JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed seventh-year LB Andrew Gachkar, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the team waived/injured undrafted rookie OLB Justin Horton. Gachkar, 6-2, 224, has appeared in 95 career games and has posted career totals of 144 tackles (108 solo), 2.0 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble. Gachkar spent the last two seasons in Dallas where he appeared in all 16 games in 2016 and 2016. Prior to joining the Cowboys, Gachkar spent four years with the Chargers, where he appeared in 63 games (2011-14) after originally being drafted by the team in the seventh round (234th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. Gachkar attended the University of Missouri and was a two-year starter for the Tigers. Gachkar will wear No. 54.
Horton, who originally signed as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017, attended Jacksonville University and appeared in 32 career games for the Dolphins, finishing with 70 tackles and 7.0 tackles for loss in 2016. If Horton clears waivers tomorrow, he will revert to the team's reserve/injured list.
The Jaguars currently have 90 players on their active roster.
