JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed second-year CB Parry Nickerson, the club announced today.
Nickerson, 5-10, 182 was originally drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played in all 16 games for the Jets last season and recorded 19 tackles (16 solo) and one pass defensed. After spending the 2019 training camp with the New York Jets, Nickerson was traded to the Seahawks on Aug. 31, 2019 and spent Weeks 2-6 on Seattle's practice squad.
Nickerson played collegiately at Tulane, where he finished his college career with 16 INTs, the second-most in school history. His 31 career pass breakups rank third in school history. As a senior in 2017, he totaled 55 tackles and six INTs and was named a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist. He attended West Jefferson (New Orleans, La.) High School and was named first-team all-state as a senior.
Nickerson will wear No. 35 for the Jaguars. Jacksonville now has 53 players on their active roster.
