Do you have any gameday rituals?
We've been tailgating and recreating the visiting team's signature meal, dessert and cocktail/beer for 25+ years. Our menu has ranged from the Saints-shrimp etouffee, bananas foster and hurricane; Patriots-lobster roll, Boston cream pie and Sam Adams; to Giants/Jets-White Castle burgers, Nathan's hot dogs, NY cheesecake and a Manhattan. Shout out to our tailgating partners-in-crime, Brian and Virginia Henry!
What's your favorite part of gameday?
The camaraderie with the same people around us for 20+ years and our seat location has added to the gameday experience. We're the last row and covered from the sun/rain and even have space behind our seats. When our kids were younger, they could all squeeze into our 2-seat area. When they now return home, tailgating and attending the games is top on their list.
The added bonus is that we have the luxury suites directly behind us. It's been exciting to have Mike Peterson's family in the suite back in the day and the past couple of years the owners and retired players of the visiting team…from Dan Marino, Jerry Jones to even Roger Goodell. Wins are enhanced even more with unhappy visiting teams behind us!
What's your go-to food item at the Jaguars stadium?
We're normally pretty full from our tailgating menu, but you can't go wrong with a cold beer on game day!
What do you gain from attending a game instead of watching it on tv?
You can't recreate the rush of gameday, crowd, etc. and how we're lucky enough to be one of 32 cities with an NFL team. The 2022 season with all of the ridiculous comeback games at home was one for the ages.
What would you tell someone who is considering purchasing season tickets?
Do it! There's no way to recreate the electric atmosphere. Do you really want to miss seeing it live and being part of their season, playoffs and hopefully a Super Bowl run? We're excited about the Stadium of the Future and all that the Weaver's, Khan's and the city are doing for the surrounding area.
