JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed fourth-year P Logan Cooke to a contract extension, the club announced today.
Cooke, 6-5, 200, was originally drafted in the seventh round (248th) of the 2018 draft and has appeared in 46 games for the Jaguars, serving as the team's primary punter and as the holder on field goals and PATs. He has punted 217 times for a 42.9 net punting average, the highest mark in franchise history, and has a 46.3 career gross punting average, the second-highest in franchise history (P Bryan Anger, 46.8). Cooke has placed 37.3 percent of his punts inside the 20, the highest mark by any punter in team history.
Since entering the NFL in 2018, Cooke's 42.9 net punting average is the fourth highest (min. 50 punts) in the league during that span. and his 81 punts inside the 20 rank seventh. He recorded a 43.2 net punting average in 2020, the third-highest mark in the AFC. Additionally, Cooke has completed three passes on three attempts for 20 yards.
A Darbun, Miss. native, Cooke attended Mississippi State where he appeared in 45 career games and averaged 41.7 yards per punt. He supported the Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville through the NFL's My Cause My Cleats initiative in 2020 and has been involved with the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, which grants hunting and fishing experiences to children with life-threatening illnesses. Logan married his wife, Mary, in February 2020.
