Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin has named Greg Finnegan as the team's assistant strength and conditioning coach. Finnegan replaces Jeff Hurd, who was named strength and conditioning coach of the Kansas City Chiefs last month.
Finnegan is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as the American College of Sports Medicine. He is the author of several articles focusing on topics such as nutritional supplements and football training.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Finnegan was an All-Ivy League center for Cornell University, where he earned his B.S. in Nutritional Science. He earned a M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Kansas State University, where he worked as an assistant strength coach under Jerry Palmieri. He re-joined Jerry Palmieri as an assistant strength coach at Boston College in 1994, and was promoted to director of strength and conditioning in January 1995 when Palmieri joined the Jaguars organization.
