Jaguars awarded wide receiver Charly Martin off waivers

The Jacksonville Jaguars today were awarded fourth-year wide receiver Charly Martin off waivers from San Francisco.  The Jaguars' roster currently stands at the NFL limit of 90 players.

Martin, 6-1, 212, has played in 12 career games with one start and totaled five receptions for 48 yards.  He has spent time with San Diego, Carolina, Seattle, San Francisco and was on the Jaguars' practice squad for the final four weeks in 2011.

Martin was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Chargers before spending the 2009 and 2010 seasons with the Panthers, appearing in eight games.  He played in four games for the Seahawks in 2012 and was waived on July 12, 2013.  He was claimed off waivers by the 49ers and waived on August 6.

The Walla Walla, Washington native was a four-year letterman at West Texas A&M where he played in 42 games and set school records with 244 receptions, 4,108 receiving yards and 44 touchdowns.  He led Division II as a senior with 95 catches for 1,867 yards and 22 touchdowns.  He attended Piedra Vista High School in Washington.

Martin will wear jersey number 85.
