Jaguars add linebacker Stephen Franklin to practice squad

The Jaguars signed rookie linebacker Stephen Franklin to the practice squad and waived linebacker Joe Pawelek from the practice squad.*  * 

Franklin, 6-0, 235, was originally signed as an undrafted rookie by Cincinnati and also spent time on Seattle's active roster.  He was a four-year letterman at Southern Illinois where he finished his career with 174 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception.  As a senior, he produced a team-high 76 tackles along with 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.  

A native of Kansas City, Franklin attended North Kansas City High School where he played running back and linebacker.  He was a four-year team captain and two-time all-conference selection.  He will wear jersey number 58.
