The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed defensive end James Wyche to a new contract. Wyche, 6-5, 275, was the first of the club's two seventh-round picks in the 2006 draft. Length and terms of the contract are undisclosed.

Wyche, a restricted free agent, has missed the last two seasons due to injuries. He missed the entire 2008 season with a knee injury suffered in the preseason, and was placed on injured reserve in 2007 after suffering a groin injury in the final preseason game against Washington. He spent the first 10 weeks of the 2007 season on the practice squad as a rookie before being activated to the 53-man roster on November 15.
