JACKSONVILLE – The streak continues.

This time, it did so in a remarkably impressive – and one-sided – fashion.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was remarkably efficient, the Jaguars' defense was remarkably dominant – and a remarkable streak continued Sunday afternoon when the Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts, 24-0, in front of 58,360 at TIAA Bank Field in the 2022 regular-season home opener.

"It was awesome," Lawrence said. "It was a lot of fun."

The Jaguars (1-1) have won eight consecutive home games against the Colts (0-1-1), with Sunday's victory marking the first for Doug Pederson as the Jaguars' head coach.

Pederson took over as head coach in February, with the Jaguars losing in Week 1 to the Washington Commanders.

"Just very proud of this group, just how resilient they are," Pederson said.

Lawrence completed 25 of 30 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in an early-season victory that moved the Jaguars to 1-0 in the AFC South.

"This is a big one," Lawrence said. "It's a division win. We really played well, dominated the game. We should celebrate, but when we come in tomorrow we have to flip the script and get ready to roll."

Wide receiver Christian Kirk caught six passes for 78 yards and also caught both Lawrence touchdown passes – a 10-yarder in the first quarter and a five-yarder late in the third. Running back James Robinson rushed for 60 yards on 23 carries, including a 37-yard second-quarter touchdown.

The Jaguars outgained the Colts, 331-218 – and led that category, 308-113, entering the fourth quarter—the Jaguars led by the final score at that point. The shutout was the first for the Jaguars since a 6-0 victory over the Colts in Jacksonville on December 2, 2018.

"They played extremely well," Pederson said of the defense. "We know Indy was down a couple of their pass catchers (wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce). My hat's off to [defensive coordinator] Mike Caldwell: Great defensive plan. They executed it during the week in practice. That's where you win football games, is during the week. Then you go out and execute the plan. Things are starting, I think, to click for guys."

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, the NFL's leading rusher in 2021, rushed for 54 yards on nine carries. He rushed for four yards on five first-half carries.

Colts quarterback Matt Ryan completed 16 of 30 passes for 195 yards and no touchdowns with three interceptions.

"It's huge," said Jaguars safety Rayshawn Jenkins, who registered one of the Jaguars' three interceptions. "It's just the beginning. The ball's in our court right now. It's our job to keep it that way. That's our whole mindset. We're just trying to stay at the forefront of this thing and keep it going."

Jaguars linebacker Josh Allen registered two sacks, and forced a fumble for the second time in as many games. Defensive linemen Adam Gotis, Arden Key and Roy Robertson-Harris also registered sacks for the Jaguars, who finished with five sacks in the game.

The Jaguars forced three takeaways – an interception by Jenkins in the first quarter, an interception by rookie linebacker Devin Lloyd in the fourth quarter and an interception by safety Andre Cisco in the fourth quarter. The Jaguars have three takeaways through two games after registering an NFL-low nine last season.

"This group is eager to win and they want to win," Pederson said. "They put in the hard work every week. That's something where I've been very proud of this group and really appreciate what they've done – how they've been able to take mistakes from a week ago and minimize them going into this week and attack the game plan and attack their job."

Step by step:

• The Jaguars took a 7-0 lead when Lawrence passed 10 yards to Kirk, a play that capped a 19-play, 68-yard, 9:11 drive. The drive began when Jenkins intercepted Ryan and included a 4th-and-3 from the Colts 47 on which Lawrence converted a first down with an eight-yard pass to wide receiver Zay Jones.
• The Jaguars extended their lead on their third drive of the game, with Robinson slicing through the middle of the line for a 37-yard touchdown run that made it 14-0 with 7:52 remaining in the second quarter. The Jaguars drove 79 yards in six plays on the possession and had outgained the Colts, 157-37, at that point. A 52-yard field goal by Jaguars kicker Riley Patterson with 1:43 remaining in the second quarter pushed the Jaguars' lead to 17-0.
• The Jaguars worked toward securing the victory with a dominant defensive third quarter, a period capped by a five-yard touchdown pass from Lawrence to Kirk that pushed the lead to 24-0 with :17 remaining in the quarter. The Jaguars held the Colts to 42 third-quarter yards and no points after allowing 71 first-half yards.
• The Colts drove deep into Jacksonville territory early in the fourth quarter and again later in the fourth, turning the ball over on downs each time. Interceptions by Lloyd and Cisco ended the Colts' next two drives.

Notable:

• Robinson started a second consecutive game to start the season at running back for the Jaguars after missing all four preseason games while returning from an Achilles injury.
• The Jaguars' five inactives Sunday: Wide receiver Kendric Pryor, safety Daniel Thomas, running back Snoop Conner, cornerback Montaric Brown and outside linebacker De'Shaan Dixon.
