JACKSONVILLE – Another rookie officially is a Jaguar.
Two weeks after the 2016 NFL Draft, more than half the Jaguars' 2016 draft class has signed with the team – with the latest signing being of the class's most high-profile players.
Myles Jack, a linebacker from UCLA, on Friday afternoon became the fourth 2016 draft selection to sign with the team. Terms and duration of the contract were not disclosed.
Jack, (6-feet-1, 241 pounds), the No. 36 selection in the draft, was considered one of the top four or five players in the draft before a knee injury caused him to slip to the second round. The Jaguars traded up two selections with the Baltimore Ravens to obtain the selection.
Jack, considered of the most versatile, athletic players to enter the NFL in recent memory, worked as a middle linebacker during the team's rookie orientation this past weekend. He started 28 games in three seasons at UCLA before sustaining a season-ending knee injury three games into the 2015 season.
He started 13 games at linebacker as a sophomore in 2014, recovering 88 tackles and eight for loss. He started 12 games as a freshman in 2013, earning both offensive and defensive freshman of the year honors in the Pac-12. He scored seven rushing touchdowns and had 75 tackles that season.
Three Jaguars 2016 draft selections remain unsigned: first-round cornerback Jalen Ramsey (Florida State), third-round defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (Maryland) and fourth-round defensive tackle Sheldon Day (Notre Dame).
